Scholarships are very much like the 50/50, you have to be in it to win it. North Guidance takes scholarships very seriously. 

Applying for scholarships can become a full time job. There are thousands (yes, really!) of scholarships available to you. It can become a tedious task so we do our best to vet them for you. Here are a few things you should know:

• Scholarships that are emailed to guidance are posted on Naviance. When a few scholarships are posted, an email will be sent with the name of the scholarship, the deadline and a brief description. If you feel you are eligible, then you must login to Naviance, click on College tab, scroll to Scholarships & Money, click on Scholarship Search.  *Please note, any scholarship that has an * next to it denotes it is a local scholarship, which means a student from Middletown will most likely be the recipient. *Hint, Hint: Apply for the *local scholarships!

• In Naviance, you can also create a National Scholarship Search based on your profile on Naviance by doing the following: Login to Naviance, click on Colleges tab, scroll to Scholarships & Money, scroll down to National Scholarship Search. These scholarships are loaded in the system from Naviance headquarters.

• Last but not least, you can use a scholarship search engine website to search for scholarships. When you use scholarship search engines it is strongly recommended you create a separate email address for scholarship purposes only as you will be spammed with all available scholarships based on the profile created. Reputable scholarship search engines: Student Scholarships.org, FastWeb, BigFuture
• Don't forget to ask your guardian's employer if they offer scholarships!

The directions are on page one and the form is on page two.  When all sections A through C are completed and signed by parent and employer, please bring the completed form to Mrs. Maria Famiglietti in the MHSN Guidance Office, or email them to Mrs. Maria Famiglietti.  She will sign them and return them to you.

• New Jersey State Working Papers

NOTE: The process through which teens can obtain working papers in New Jersey will change on June 1, 2023. Rather than going to their local school, younger workers must visit the Department of Workforce Development website and follow a few simple steps.

As we approach the start of the new school year, there are many things to look forward to at High School North including the ability to park on school property.  Understand, that with this privilege comes responsibility, so please carefully review all information and requirements.
